WHERE HISTORY FINDS A NEW RHYTHM
In the quiet town of Monteroni di Lecce, just beyond the Baroque streets of Lecce, Palazzo Edmondo offers a considered interpretation of contemporary hospitality within the walls of a historic Italian residence.
Dating back to the 16th century, the palazzo has been carefully brought back to life following an extensive three-year restoration led by Studio Luca Baldazzi. Rather than imposing a new identity upon the building, the project celebrates the beauty of its existing architecture, allowing centuries of history to remain an essential part of the experience.
Soaring star-vaulted ceilings, original stone floors and beautifully restored wooden doors reveal the craftsmanship of another era. Natural materials, subtle textures and carefully selected contemporary furnishings introduce a quiet dialogue between past and present.
Throughout the interiors, the emphasis is on proportion, authenticity and restraint. Each space feels thoughtfully composed, yet entirely at ease with its surroundings.
Beyond the historic walls, a secluded Mediterranean garden unfolds beneath mature citrus trees. Designed by Rebediani Scaccabarozzi Landscapes, the outdoor spaces feature a long swimming pool framed by an ancient colonnade, creating a peaceful retreat from the rhythm of everyday life.
With three generous suites, private terraces and inviting communal spaces, Palazzo Edmondo offers an intimate way to experience the character of southern Italy.
More than a restored residence, it is a celebration of architectural heritage, local craftsmanship and the enduring beauty of places shaped by time.
